We had a lovely time- Staff were lovely, Relaxing atmosphere, woodburners  for cosy atmosphere,  Drinks Master Class, Dinner, Sauna, Comfort etc- All great. Only downside was 90 minute wait for breakfast- think this could be improved

At Monachyle Mhor, our story begins and continues on the land. Nestled in the wild beauty of the Scottish Highlands, our luxury boutique hotel began life as a working farm and remains one to this day. The rhythms of nature, heritage, and animal life continue to shape everything we do.  
  
Running daily from 10 am, our immersive farm tours are open to both hotel guests and day visitors. You’ll meet our friendly animals and get up close with life on the farm. All of our animals are gentle and well-handled, and enjoy meeting visitors of all ages.  
  
You’ll meet our donkeys (Jake & Milo) and goats (Skip & Wotsit), feed them and get to know their playful personalities, and meet our ponies (Cosmo & Holly), along with our Highland cow (Donald). Children and adults alike love collecting fresh eggs from our hens. No two days are ever quite the same on the farm—so come ready to get involved and enjoy the experience.

Life at Mhor Farm Tour

The farm tour was fun. The day staff were all lovely. Unfortunately the dinner was incredibly disappointing. I had been looking forward it for so long. The service was appalling, probably because we were tucked out of site. We were never offered a second drink. The mains took an hour to be cleared from our table. The food very underwhelming. So much effort trying to be fancy that they failed on flavour. Definitely not worth the money.

What a magical place! Stayed in the treehouse which we all loved, so quirky & surrounded by nature. 
The whole dining experience was amazing from the friendly staff to the superb food , we will miss those breakfasts for sure.
Highly recommend the farm tour was very interesting, our kids loved it & even got a spin up the road on a tractor.
A shout out also to reception staff who were so friendly & helpful. Thanks for a great few days.

We did the farm tour this week with our children and loved it! Magda and Oksana were so knowledgeable and you could tell they loved everything about the animals and the farm. They made sure to involve our children and give them the opportunity to interact with all the animals. I would recommend it to anyone.

We gather at 10:30am for an 11am start at Monachyle Mhor’s Dutch Barn, where you'll enjoy breakfast accompanied by a glass of something special and our first food pairing.  
From there, we set off on a leisurely walk through Monachyle Glen, following the shoreline of Loch Voil and taking in some of Balquhidder's most breathtaking scenery. Our first stop is the Fairy Pools, where more delicious food and carefully selected wine pairings await.  
Continuing through the glen, we arrive at the historic Monachyle Lifting Stone, the original expression of strength since the 1700s and a spot where couples still choose to marry. Here, you'll enjoy another delicious bite and wine pairing while hearing fascinating stories, folklore and social history from this remarkable glen.  
We then make our way to the bottom meadow and our famous mirrored box, named by Condé Nast Traveller as one of the ten best views in the world. Set against the dramatic Highland landscape, it's the perfect place to pause, sip and savour the experience.  
Our journey concludes in the Dutch Barn, where roaring fires, a hearty lunch and the final courses of the tasting await. There'll be more wine to enjoy, along with the opportunity to purchase/buy your favourite bottles from the day.  
Combining exceptional food and wine, stunning scenery, great company and captivating local stories, this unique experience has become a favourite among everyone who joins us.  
If you'd like to make a weekend of it, book one of our luxurious hotel rooms and enjoy a romantic evening meal.  

Starts at 11am and finishes at 5pm. Dogs are very welcome.

Wine Safari

The weather wasn't great for the day of our wine safari, but the team turned it around and made adjustments to ensure we had a fun day. Beautiful setting and venue, and nice to do something a bit different from the norm!

This was our first time on the safari. While it was a beautiful day and the venue looked great, we were a bit disappointed by the walk. I was led to believe it would be 6 miles, but it was only 5km, and simply walking up a road and back felt like a waste of time. The entire event could have easily been hosted right on the hotel site.

On a positive note, the food and wine were nice, though it would have been great to get top-ups. We received a top-up of Crémant at the start, but after that, it felt like there wasn't enough to go around. Ultimately, I also felt the group size was a bit too large.

Very disappointed that the 10k walk didn’t happen! People should have been informed of this prior to attending as this was part of the package!
 No issues with food however the  wine allowance was  insufficient! We were at a table of 10 where the other 6 were being served more wine and when  we asked were told it was now finished! 
I am a dog lover however there were too many dogs allowed and not on leads! Dogs were allowed to wander around restaurant area and under table with one who had been in water shaking there coat thus we were cover in water and smelling of dog! 
I don’t think the wine safari offered value for money! 
Very disappointing!

Overall disappointed with the whole experience. There were too many people attending which resulted in not hearing everything. There were too many dogs off lead and wet dogs under the dining table  which was just revolting. Finding a long blond hair in my main dinner was unpleasant but telling a waiter and getting absolutely no reaction was just rude.   Another waiter served extra bubbly to guests at our table but completely ignored our party.

This was an experience booked for my wife's Christmas. 
From the first minute to the last, it totally exceeded our expectations.  The weather was fantastic and it was great to meet some new people.  Tom is a totally natural host and highly entertaining, even if there were a few naughty words slipped in, he was great fun. The wines ( and spirits ) were excellent and very reasonable measures to boot. Congratulations should go to the chef as the food was of the highest quality. While the portion sizes were perfect for us, those with a heartier appetite may need manage their expectations of quantity.
Overall the day was fantastic and I would highly recommend it.

MM staff exceptional and well organised. Plenty of wine to sample with refills paired with a good food and walk through the Glen.

What an amazing day on our first wine safari, we will certainly be back for another one , Tom and Lisa couldn’t have done anymore to entertain us, and the whole crowd , we were there for the Gusbourne sparkling champagne safari and Beth there rep was also at hand to answer questions and talk about there growth , we also met some lovely people on the day who I’m sure enjoyed it every bit as much as we did , all in all a terrific day , scenery was gorgeous too, food , drink and company , would definitely recommend to anyone and will be back for more , thanks again team .
